Old Man Hawkeye #1

MARVEL COMICS

First things first, this isn’t your daddies Hawk-eye. He’s a killer in an inhospitable world where most of earths heroes are dead and gone. Bleak is an understatement.

Starting a classic revenge scenario among a destitute planet with no clear good side anymore, is a well-trodden route in many genres, but something is fresh here. Most definitely there is a big boost from the gorgeous renderings of a blown out middle America. The colors pop, the art summons visions of pencil and watercolor just as beautiful as you will find anywhere in comics today. I will be sticking around to see where this story ends. A broken man racing against the clock and to stay one step ahead of those who pursue him plus a visit from one of your favorite symbiotes.

Old man Hawkeye deserves a look. One more reason to check out what Marvel is trying to win you back with. Solid writing and bleeding edge hungry artists trying to become a household name. Marvel wants you back, and they are pulling out all the stops to get you back into the fold.
